Our unique low-profile serration pattern remains sharp longer and reduces tearing on softer bread while easily getting into hearty, crusty rolls. The K tip, the match that of the Bunka also adds the perfect sharp tip to stab into rolls without tearing. And is great to spread butter on fresh bread out of the oven! 

 

The VG10 steel is more resilient than carbon steel, yet it sharpens with ease, allowing a finer edge. The durability of VG10 steel prevents dulling and rusting while allowing a finer edge than German steel. That finer edge will help you glide through tomatoes and soft rolls. 

 

The "kurouchi", or blacksmith finish, is the signature of our forge in Southeast China. It not only looks great, but by laminating carbon from the forge over the core layers of steel, it protects them from rust or exposure to the elements.
